After watching the video on the Supreme Court I learned that many petitions get passed thru the courts and only a few get accepted to look further into. In the video, they state that they only accept very few of the thousands of petitions sent in. This made me research further and I found that out of 7000 petitions only 100 to 150 get accepted which is only 1.4 percent of these petitions getting through the court to further be looked at.
I found it interesting how the justices go about solving the cases by being able to be systematic and fair as well as keeping order. Compared to our world of politics today there is no order or agreement coming from political parties, but the justices manage to represent their ideas and beliefs respectfully.
After thinking about what they do I started wondering what it would be like for a Supreme Court justice to be in normal life outside of work. I think it would be very hard because everyone knows what they do and would most likely bring it up constantly. This would allow them to never be able to fully get away from their work life. This way of life takes 3 to 5 years to get acclimated to according to past Supreme Court justices. This is somewhat relevant to me because ive been hearing over and over that it takes a while to get used to being away for college.
In relation to all the disagreement in the political environment today there is an article that caught my attention about the Supreme Court having all-time low support from the general population.
I think Roe v Wade is a big player in the disapproval of our Supreme Court system. What decisions would people need to see to approve of the Supreme Court?
